Age Calculator

Enter a date of birth and get an exact age broken down into years, months and days — not just a rounded year figure. It also shows total days lived and how long until the next birthday.

How to use the Age Calculator

  1. Pick your date of birth from the date field.
  2. Leave the second date as today, or set any other date to find your age on that day.
  3. Read the exact age in years, months and days, plus total days lived and days to your next birthday.

About the Age Calculator

Most people work out age by subtracting birth year from the current year, which is wrong for anyone whose birthday has not happened yet this year. This calculator counts calendar months and days properly, accounts for leap years, and handles months of different lengths, so the result matches what a passport office, school admission form or insurance application expects. Everything is computed in your browser from the date you type — nothing is sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my exact age in years, months and days?

Enter your date of birth above. The calculator subtracts your birth date from today using real calendar lengths, so February and 31-day months are handled correctly, and returns years, months and days separately.

Does this age calculator handle leap years?

Yes. February 29 birthdays and leap days inside the range are counted correctly, so the total days figure is accurate.

Can I find my age on a future or past date?

Yes. Change the second date to any date and the calculator shows how old you were, or will be, on that date — useful for eligibility cut-offs.

What does DOB mean on a form?

DOB is date of birth. Enter it in the first field and the calculator returns your exact age in years, months and days, which is the figure a passport office, school admission form or insurance application expects rather than a rounded year.
