About the GPA and CGPA Calculator
GPA is a credit-weighted average, so a three-credit course moves your average more than a one-credit one — which is why simply averaging your letter grades gives the wrong answer. This calculator does the weighting for you and keeps semester GPA and cumulative CGPA separate, so you can test scenarios like 'what happens to my CGPA if I get a B in this course' before results day.
Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated on a 4.0 scale?
Multiply each course's grade point by its credit hours, add those products, then divide by the total credit hours taken.
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA covers a single semester. CGPA is the weighted average across every semester you have completed.
Can I predict my CGPA before results?
Yes — enter expected grades for the current semester along with your previous credits and CGPA to see the projected result.
