About the Discount Calculator
Stacked offers are the trap: 20% off followed by a further 10% off is not 30% off, it is 28%. This calculator applies each discount in sequence the way a till does, so the final price matches what you will actually be charged. Useful for comparing a flat discount against a multi-step promotion before deciding which offer is genuinely better.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a percentage discount?
Multiply the price by the discount percentage divided by 100, then subtract that from the price.
Is 20% off plus 10% off the same as 30% off?
No. The second discount applies to the already-reduced price, giving 28% off in total, not 30%.
Can I work out the original price from the sale price?
Yes — divide the sale price by (1 − discount/100).
