About the Temperature Converter
Celsius and Fahrenheit have different zero points as well as different degree sizes, which is why the conversion needs both a multiplication and an offset and why mental estimates drift at the extremes. Kelvin shares Celsius degree size but starts at absolute zero. Showing all three at once is quicker than picking a direction, and helps when a recipe, a weather forecast and a scientific figure use different scales.
