Loan Calculator
Compare what the same loan costs across several repayment terms at once, so the trade-off between a lower monthly payment and a higher total cost is visible in one view.
How to use the Loan Calculator
- Enter the amount you want to borrow.
- Enter the annual interest rate.
- Review the comparison table and pick the tenure whose total cost you are comfortable with.
About the Loan Calculator
Lenders advertise the monthly payment because it is the smallest-sounding number. The figure that decides whether a loan is a good deal is the total repaid over its life. This calculator lays several tenures side by side with monthly payment, total interest and total repayment for each, which makes it obvious when a longer term is quietly costing far more. All calculations run locally in your browser.
Please note: this is an educational estimator. It does not account for processing fees, insurance bundling, prepayment penalties, floating-rate resets or local tax rules, so the figure on a real agreement will differ. Use it to compare options, then confirm with your lender or a licensed financial adviser. Full disclaimer.
Frequently asked questions
Which loan tenure should I choose?
The shortest one whose monthly payment fits your budget with room to spare — shorter terms almost always cost less overall.
What does total interest mean?
It is everything you pay above the amount borrowed, across the full life of the loan.
Does this include processing fees or insurance?
No. It calculates interest only, so add any one-off fees your lender charges separately.
Does this show a full amortization schedule?
It shows the payment and the total interest for each tenure you compare, which is the part most people are deciding on. For a personal loan the useful comparison is usually total interest paid rather than the month-by-month amortization schedule — a longer tenure lowers the payment and raises the total cost, and that trade-off is what the comparison table makes visible.
